January – 2014

Two post. I had a few more lined up, but was kindly asked to reduce and delay my posting on this site for a while.

(Maybe one day I’ll tell you the full story.)

I started with a look back at 2013

and the promptly failed one week into 2014.

I did fail Oh, I failed so bad.

I spent a lot. Really a lot.

Flexible spending in January was around 1777

Weeks were: 239, 757, 406, 205, 167.

That included

  • four birthday present, some of them quite big.
  • A wild night partying.
  • A good weekend of shopping fun, including some new clothes.
  • Some indie funding.
  • More clothes.
  • And a speeding ticket.

I didn’t manage to get back to updating my debt chart again, but I fear for the worst.

Fixed spending was 4107 with a huge increase, including my flat rate train ticket,

but not fully expected.

Post tax income was 5336 (including the employers part of social insurances).

So this month resulted in an overall minus of around 550.

Really bad.

I have to stay below 1000 flexible spending a month

and was really aiming for less than 500.

Let’s see how February goes.

I managed to convince my boss that “home office fridays” are the only way I can survive this,

so from this friday on no more office for me. Which doesn’t mean I don’t have to work,

but it will give me some extre flexibility.

The (non-)girlfriend situation became slightly ugly. It was an accident and I still think she misunderstood and completely overreacted.

Money still is a joke, but I should be getting my bonus by the end of next month and then things will hopefully be a little better.

On the plus side:

I think my health problem is slowly improving.

Stay low. Aim for 500 or less per month in flexible spending, but stay below 1000 at all cost.

Still need to tell you about my overall debt.

Reduce fixed spending again. Seriously thinking about selling my flat and my car.

Write some posts!
